Oral Health Outreach
Research has indicated that access to oral health care is critical to the early identification and prevention of oral diseases. Every year hundreds of school children in our area report to nurses of complaining of tooth pain, and it is also one of the most common excuses for absenteeism. In addition, the majority of children examined through the Community Health Center of Central Missouri had never before seen a dentist, and many were found to have advanced tooth decay. Due to overwhelming needs in our community, CHC of Central Missouri has expanded our community outreach programs to meet the dental needs of thousands of Missouri students each year, primarily those in elementary school. Look for our Dental Staff out and about in our community! We are spreading the word about Oral Health topics in schools, daycares and other organizations. Know a group who could benefit from this free service? Contact the Dental Department at Community Health Center of Central Missouri today.
Fully immunizing your child according to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics can help protect your child from many common infections. These infections can lead to serious and even life threatening complications. Although the vaccines may have mild side effects and more rarely, serious complications, in general, it is safer to immunize your children than allow them to get any of the infections that they prevent. To schedule your child’s appointment call the number below. Some adults incorrectly assume that the vaccines they received as children will protect them for the rest of their lives. Generally this is true, except that:
- Some adults were never vaccinated as children
- Newer vaccines were not available when some adults were children
- Immunity can begin to fade over time. As we age, we become more susceptible to serious disease caused by common infections.
It can sometimes be difficult to understand or keep track of exactly which vaccines you need. Call Community Health Center of Central Missouri and talk to one of our representatives. Then you and your doctor can decide which vaccines you need and when to get them. For more information call: 573-632-2777
The first step to finding relief from pain is to understand what pain is and why we feel it. When pain lasts for a long time, it is called chronic pain. This type of pain is often caused by illness or injury, and it is complicated because the source of the pain is often unknown. If you or someone in your family is experiencing continuous pain, call us. Our provider is our board certified anesthesiologist and has been practicing in central Missouri since 2002.
